Wendy Blackwell leads the Treasury Management group for Dallas Capital Bank and serves as Director of New Product Development. She has 30+ years of experience in Retail, Small Business, Middle Market Commercial, and Corporate Banking. Before joining Dallas Capital Bank, Wendy served for 25 years at BBVA Compass and predecessors in Dallas.
In 2015, Wendy joined a team of local banking executives and prominent investors to create a new chapter in Dallas Banking. The result is Dallas Capital Bank, founded to serve the needs of businesses, entrepreneurs, family offices and professionals throughout the Dallas metroplex. After many years with banks headquartered in other cities, states and even out of the U.S., Wendy is thrilled to be working for a bank based in Dallas and where all decisions are made. One of Wendy’s mentors shared some wisdom a long time ago that has stuck with Wendy through the years. He taught her that the easiest way to gauge the strength of a local economy was to look around the landscape and count the cranes. Cranes indicate construction and construction means the local economy is thriving. The more cranes you can count, the stronger the local economy is. Construction and related industries are vibrant parts of the Dallas business community, and Wendy loves working with and providing financial solutions for companies in this market segment.
Outside of the banking hours, there is a good chance Wendy will be on a tennis court. She is an active member of Canyon Creek Country Club and plays in several different local tennis leagues. Wendy has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters Collin County and the Plano Chamber of Commerce, and she is a long-time member of the Junior League of Collin County. She currently serves as President of the Metroplex Tennis League and enjoys volunteering for Network of Community Ministries, Emily’s Place and City of Richardson events.
